John B. Wise
JOHN B. WISE is Of-Counsel to the firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He provides corporate counsel to businesses, particularly in the areas of planning, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations.
Mr. Wise’s clients range from sole proprietors and small businesses to multinational corporations. He provides counsel to families, owners of closely-held businesses, professionals and entrepreneurs concerning management, financing and succession planning and the operation of their businesses.
He also has served as the lead counsel and the principal business advisor for numerous successful mergers, acquisitions and divestitures in various industries, and the reorganization of many family-owned businesses, including the transition of businesses from the older generation to the younger.
Mr. Wise recently advised on two conditional asset purchase agreements between two international companies involving manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe.
In addition, Mr. Wise provides estate and trust planning to families and assists in the administration of decedent’s estates. He has crafted sophisticated plans which include wills, trusts, family limited partnerships and similar vehicles that ensure successful intergenerational wealth transfer.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania; in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals; and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations.
Mr. Wise received his law degree from Temple University and is a magna cum laude graduate of Nasson College.
Mr. Wise served as the Mayor of the Borough of Sewickley, Pennsylvania from January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2009. He serves as a board member of Marshall Elevator Company and was past president of Harmonie Associates. He is also managing general partner of Sewickley Professional Center.
