CHRISTOPHER A. IACONO is a litigation associate in the White Collar Criminal Defense, Health Care Litigation and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP.Mr. Iacono focuses his litigation practice on white collar criminal defense, health care litigation, complex commercial litigation, SEC enforcement action defense and professional licensing litigation.
His recent representations include:
- Defending physicians and health care providers in a variety of health care fraud investigations.
- Representing a large metropolitan city during state and federal investigations of city organizations.
- Representing an orthopedic surgeon in a credentialing action against a hospital.
- Defending a chief financial officer of a publicly traded company in a class action securities case brought by shareholders.
- Defending a horse breeding operation in a civil RICO action initiated by investors.
- Providing compliance guidance to a major Internet Service Provider concerning the reporting and handling of child pornography under federal, state and international law.
- Defending members of a union in a lawsuit brought by their employer under the Anti-Spam Act.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Iacono clerked for the Honorable Joseph R. Slights, III of the Superior Court of Delaware. Additionally, he completed a legal internship with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and an externship with the Honorable Jack B. Jacobs of the Delaware Court of Chancery, now a member of the Supreme Court of Delaware.
Mr. Iacono is a member of the Justinian Society, the Criminal Law Committee of the Federal Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL). He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Philadelphia Bar Association. In 2008, he was selected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of Widener University School of Law.
Mr. Iacono currently serves as Co-chair of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the ABA's Criminal Justice Section White Collar Committee Young Lawyers' Division. He served previously as a Steering Committee Member for the Philadelphia Young Lawyers Division of the ABA White Collar Crime Committee.
Mr. Iacono has been selected by Law and Politics magazine as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2010 in the area of White Collar Criminal Defense.
Mr. Iacono received his J.D. magna cum laude from Widener University School of Law, at which he served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. Additionally, he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, was on the Dean’s Honors List, was a Widener Scholar, a Charles P. Mirachi Sr. Memorial Scholar, and a Paul Issac Leiter Memorial Scholar, and he received the Widener University School of Law Outstanding Service Award, the Donald E. Paese Best Student Article Award, and the Russell R. Levin Memorial Award. He earned his B.A. from Ursinus College.
Mr. Iacono is licensed to practice in state and federal court in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
