Robert A. Diaz
ROBERT A. DIAZ is an associate in the Intellectual Property practice of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He has expertise in patent prosecution, business and intellectual property transactions, and IP litigation.
Mr. Diaz joined Pietragallo after serving as in-house intellectual property counsel for a global leader in the coatings industry.
He has drafted, filed and prosecuted patent applications related to the chemical, metallurgical, biotechnology, telecommunication, software and electromechanical industries; managed foreign patent practice including European opposition proceedings; and engaged in intellectual property portfolio planning and management. Mr. Diaz has also prepared and counseled clients on a variety of intellectual property agreements such as non-disclosure, joint development, joint venture, trademark license, manufacturing and service agreements.
Mr. Diaz received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he also obtained an Intellectual Property and Technology Law Certificate. He earned a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas, where he was a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society and the National Academy of Collegiate Scholars.
Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Mr. Diaz is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association.
