Andrea M. Bartko

ANDREA M. BARTKO, a partner with Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, is a member of the firm’s Business Group.  She focuses on startup and divestiture issues, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, family- and owner-managed businesses, and general corporate law.

Ms. Bartko's experience includes negotiation and documentation of transactions and contracts; due diligence; non-competition agreements; resolution of post-closing issues; entity formation and dissolution; corporate restructuring and recapitalization; stock and asset purchases; loan documentation; and commercial real property leases and sales.  She regularly works with planned community developments and homeowners' associations.  Her experience also includes assisting the boards of directors and officers with corporate governance matters and advising clients on foreign qualification and licensing matters, shareholder issues, and the preparation of federal and state securities reports, proxy statements, Section 16 insider trading and Rule 144 reports.  Ms. Bartko also assists clients in obtaining certification as a nonprofit organization or as a minority- or women-owned business enterprise.

Ms. Bartko also works with estate matters, such as the drafting of wills and trusts and guiding clients through the estate administration process.

Prior to joining the firm, she served as Senior Attorney, Compliance Officer and Assistant Corporate Secretary for DQE Financial Corp.

Ms. Bartko is admitted to practice in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  She is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations and their respective business law, real property, and labor law sections. Ms. Bartko is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and a former member of the board and legal director for the Pittsburgh Chapter.  In her latter role, Ms. Bartko was honored for her pro bono work on behalf of the organization, which promotes women entrepreneurs.

Ms. Bartko received her law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Duquesne University John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Accounting, from Robert Morris College.
