Alexander E. Gosfield
ALEXANDER E. GOSFIELD is an associate in the Philadelphia office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He is a member of the Commercial Litigation, Healthcare Litigation, and White Collar Criminal Practice Groups.
Mr. Gosfield received his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he is currently an adjunct professor of trial advocacy and serves as a coach for the National Trial Team. Upon his graduation, Mr. Gosfield received the Most Promising Civil Litigator Award from the Center for Forensic Economic Studies, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Prize, and the Robert E. Lamberton Award for Excellence in Constitutional Law. Prior to graduating, Mr. Gosfield twice received the Barrister's Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Gosfield competed with Temple’s National Trial Team from 2006-2008, winning the regional championship of the American College of Trial Lawyers’ National Trial Competition in 2007 and 2008 and finishing second at the national championship
in 2007. For his performance in these competitions, Mr. Gosfield has twice received the John J. Scott Award for Best Advocate in the Final Round, the American College of Trial Lawyers’ Lewis F. Powell Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association’s Murray S. Love Memorial Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Gosfield was a Staff Editor of the Temple Journal of Science, Technology, and Environmental Law and a Fellow in the Rubin Public Interest Honor Society.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gosfield completed a clinical externship in the chambers of U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy R. Rice. He also worked as an intern for Miller Alfano & Raspanti, PC, the Family Violence & Sexual Assault Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, and Judge Mark I. Bernstein of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Mr. Gosfield is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association. He regularly volunteers for Temple's Legal Education and Participation (LEAP) program, training high school students in trial advocacy techniques and judging mock trial competitions. Mr. Gosfield is also active in Philadelphia's arts community as chairperson of the Young Friends Committee of the Jeanne Ruddy Dance Company.
Mr. Gosfield earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Duke University. He is a member of the Duke University Alumni Association.
